Buttonholes & Corsages
"I always tell my brides it is like matching shoes and handbags, put an orange handbag with pink shoes, it will look a complete disaster".
If there are roses within the bridal bouquet choose a shade to compliment all of the bridal party flowers. I never use carnation buttonholes, they are dated and are just a no no flowers nowadays. However what goes around comes around and I am sure they will rear their heads again, and come back into fashion. Choose a mini gerbera or daisies with a bit of twisted willow for guest buttonholes, something different to the norm.
But put your top guests in special buttonholes, roses, orchids, calla lilies and then in your wedding photos you will all blend in together. Your top ladies guests may well be wearing very light clothing for your special day, and a traditional corsage may be to heavy. Choose a wrist corsage instead, or a handbag spray, which we will attach at the studio.
Or the most popular at present are the ever lovely feather fascinators, which we combine with fresh flowers, this way, ladies do not have to wear hats and in the Spanish heat this can be a problem, and their fascinator will match their outfits and the flowers throughout the wedding. Or just a comb with a few roses inserted into a French pleat, looks amazing in the sunlight.
I have selected a few of my favorite corsages from over the years.
